YouthNet
AppSwing has chosen to support the work of the charity YouthNet. Working with YouthNet, AppSwing will:
- Encourage its customers to recycle their old mobile phones via YouthNet
- Promote YouthNet to its customers via our newsletter, website and other media
- Advise YouthNet’s development team on mobility issues.
With an estimated 27 per cent of Europeans changing their mobile every year, there is a large number of old phones which are being discarded and which could be put to further use. For each of these phones recycled through YouthNet.org, the charity receives between £5 - £25 per phone.
See below for more details on YouthNet and how you can get involved.
YouthNet is the UK’s first online charity. Set up by former BBC broadcaster Martyn Lewis CBE in 1995, everything we do supports young people. Through two award-winning, innovative websites we work to engage, inform and inspire people to take a confident place in the world around them:
- www.TheSite.org is the UK’s most comprehensive information, support and advice service for 16-24 year olds. This helps over 500,000 young people each month who receive vital support or guidance, TheSite.org gives them the skills and confidence they need to shape their lives, fulfil their dreams and achieve their potential.
- www.do-it.org.uk is the central place in the internet for volunteering and home to a database of over 850,000 opportunities to volunteer, enabling people to make a real difference in their communities. Also packed full of case studies, top tips and articles on how to make the most of their volunteering experience, do-it.org.uk really is ‘volunteering made easy’.
Supporting YouthNet has never been easier thanks to our mobile phone and toner recycling scheme. Throwing away an old mobile phone or empty printer cartridge is not only wasteful and harmful to the environment – it’s also like throwing away cash. That’s because YouthNet can receive between 25p to £5 for every printer cartridges recycled, and an average of £5 per mobile phone.
Recycling for YouthNet couldn’t be easier – all you need to do is visit www.youthnet.org/getinvolved and click on the Recycle for YouthNet link to order your freepost recycling envelope – or call 020 7250 5700 and ask to speak to the corporate development team. It’s as simple as that!
Recycle your mobile phones and toner cartridges today and help YouthNet reach, support and inspire more young people.
